The Ritten

The sunny high plateau above Bozen

The Ritten
The Ritten is a high plateau above the main town of the province, Bozen, and is one of the main holiday areas in the southern part of South Tyrol.
Klobenstein is the largest of the eight villages there, and is situated at an altitude of 1150m.
Ritten has always been a place for merchants and traders from Bozen to escape the heat of the city, and the first summer houses were built in the 16th century in Klobenstein, Oberbozen and Himmelfahrt.

Ritten is a perfect holiday destination for hiking through meadows and forests, up to the alpine pastureland of the Rittner Horn.

From here, the panorama stretches even further than from elsewhere and offers a unique view across to the mountainous landscape of the Dolomites.
